Christmas Winter Woods

On the 4th Day of letter writing for More Love Letters.com I created a Christmas tree card for Brent who has Batten's disease.  I made this card using the Stampin Up Winter Woods set and embossed the tree in hunter green powder.  Both patterned papers are by Anna Griffin and I added music washi tape to the edge for more contrast.  The gold star brad along with the sentiment "Thinking of you this Season" added just the right amount of sparkle for a male greeting card.  The sentiment didn't photograph well but is readable in person.

Happy Bird-Day

I love these little birds from Stampin Up's "Color me Happy" set.  I found these three challenges and combined them to make one Bird-day card.  The bow on the present took way longer then intended, but between that and the hat I think I added some whimsy to the card.

Swirly Birthday Wishes

Here is Sketch #321 from CC&S, and I was inspired also by Die cuttin' Diva's to add flowers to my creation.   My first thought was to use the Swirly Bird stamp set from Stampin Up, because I haven't played with it in awhile.   I found the patterned paper by Colorbok at the thrift store recently, so I wanted to give that some use as well.  I had a hard time getting balanced and cut lot's leaves, and also bows in pink, magenta, and green before deciding on a real bow out of silver.  I took a close up so you can see I added clear iridescent embossing powder to the flowers to add more sparkle, and to submit the card to Ike's world embossing challenge as well.

Number of years Stampin' Up! Happy birthday 21

Inchie style embossed 21st birthday card for my nephew using the number of years die cut and stamp set by stamping up.  I wanted to create a cool typography type card and I think it turned out pretty good.

Swirly Bird Stampin Up! Happy Birthday Card

Inchie style swirly scribble style card.  I layered colors over tape then used decoupage glue over the top and let dry before punching into one inch squares and using grid die.  Cool for a teen birthday

First birthday, Stampin Up! number of years

I made this card using the new "number of years" bundle by stamping up.  I love counting the birthdays.  I used the itty bitty flower punch for the "st" and mounted it inside a button.  The flowers are from a wall paper border that I fussy cut.

                                                        Tuesday Throwdown #278: Anything Goes
When I saw Mojo's sketch on Monday I had nothing to pair it with to get me started.  I found the inspiration photo on Diva's blog and unearthed my wonderful cake stamp from impression obsession (see above photo).  I regret to admit that this card took waaaay to long to create! I cut out pattern paper that was too busy and tried the cake several different ways until I reached my happy place.  I ended up stamping the cake on craft paper with brown ink twice and layering the two with pop dots to make it stand out more.  I also stamped it a third time on cream colored paper and cut out the plate which helped make the piece of cake become the focal point.  The yum yum stamp is a Stampin Up oldie along with the two punches.
TIP: The cream colored paper was a thrift store find of index file cards which are thicker then card stock and great to stamp on.

Merry & Bright, 52cc, Atcas80

Addicted to CAS #80, the Colour Red.
52 Christmas Card throwdown, January Theme: Lanterns or candles.
When I first saw this Stampin Up set "from land to sea" don't ask me why, but I saw the lantern and thought of Christmas (?!) so I finally got to try it on a card.  The embossing folder and sentiment are by Stampin Up too.  The poinsettia is off of a recollections present embellishment from Micheals. I added a dot of orange stickles to the flame to give it some sparkle ~

Get Well, CFG#103, TT#277, CTS#4

Cardz for Guyz asked for the colour blue, and Tuesday Throwdown's challenge is "Get Well" so I went to sketch #4 at CAS(E) and got crafting!  I have a plastic tub with Thinking of you, get well, & sympathy embellishments where I found these by Sandy Lion entitled "Doctor".  I die cut a bunch of circles from scrapbook paper that had different shades of blue in it and attached the embellishments.  The "Get Well Soon" sentiment is by Stampin Up.

A vintage kind of love, MOJO431, APP57

Mojo monday#431 and Always Playing with Paper #57

I spotted this sketch on Mojo monday first, then I found the inspiration photo challenge and pulled out my tub of vintage supplies.  I knew I had lace, but the flowers I was finding in my stash were too big.   I opted for an antique rhinestone button instead.  I fastened the button to the lace with a pin and pop dots so that it could be removed for a collection or be reused again.  The rhinestone embellishments I cut off of wire (floral pick?) from a thrift store find.    Due to the embellishments, I think giving this card in a clear plastic box would protective and beautiful.

Winter snow

The Challenges are as follows:
Sketch Saturday #395
Just Us Girls #326: White, Lt. Blue,& Dk Blue.
AAA Cards #56 Winter Wonderland
CHNC #264: Anything goes Christmas

I used Versamark and chalk to color in this Stampin Up image.
I used the fixative to seal the chalk then sprayed a frost shimmer spray to make it sparkle.  I couldn't get a good photo but the effect is very pretty.  The navy background paper is from a recycled Christmas card back, and so is the silver accent strip.  The snowflake is a piece of aluminum that has been punched and embossed.  I deviated from the sketch, but I'm happy with the result.

Winter Birthday Wishes LIM#258, CAS#74

Another shot at CAS and can you see my indecision?
I made this card two ways, to the right first and then centered in the middle.  While I like how both of them turned out, stamping in the middle seems the safer (more balanced) less creatively risky way - Using the words safe and risky sound odd when referencing art, but those stampers with confidence issues will understand!  I added Stampin' up dazzling details to the center of the top snowflake for added sparkle without the bulk.  Four different stamps were used to create this card two different unmounted snowflakes, the flourish and a sentiment.
This card was inspired by the Less is More Challenge #258 to use a flourish & CAS on Sunday #74 Winter theme.

Case'd card #5, smiles

The World Over Stampin Up set. I love the globe with the curved little people. Case'd card #5

I case'd this card from Pinterest, it states" uploaded by user "which would be Taz Augustine I believe.  I like it better colored I think, but I was trying the simplified approach first ~ great saying: "Everyone smiles in the same language".

Take time to Celebrate, Mojo411, SOS215, DCD229, Cards4guys84

Mojo Monday #411, Sketch
Shopping our Stash Layer it on me!
Die Cuttin Divas Celebration
Cards4guys It's about Time

It's rare when I can get four challenges in one card and make it work! I love the sketch and the themes this week.  I used an embossing folder for the background and die cut out a green clock face to add as embellishment. I used five different rubber stamps. The "take time to" was an angel company stamp that I cut the words to separate "smell the roses" making it more versatile.  Celebrate is a well used and loved Stampin up sentiment along with the large clock face.  The two smaller clock faces are clear stamps (source unknown).  The patterned paper is called "Winchester" from The Angel Company.

Marlin, Happy Retrement, CTD385

The color throwdown colors for this week made me think of my new stamp set from Stampin Up called "From Land to Sea" and I knew I had to play.  I also used the mosaic madness embossing folder and punch for texture and stamped and embossed "Happy Retirement" in silver.  The waves are sizzix dies.

You make me smile

Inspired by Mojo Monday's sketch#404.   The colors and patterns of the paper made me happy, so I thought the sentiment by Stampin' up  was a good match.  I'm also including this card in Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #141 where the Sentiment is to be the focal point of the card this week.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Above is my card for LIM & Here is the sketch challenge:
I used a project life card "It's the most wonderful time of the year" and added a green strip with red and white bakers twine along with a red rhinestone for the holly berry and a clear for the inside medallion on the Stampin' Up image that reads "Merry Christmas".

December 25th, Christmas Card

Finally getting back to creating! life sends all kind of curve balls and this one was pain related, but I'm 90% back on track and very thankful.  I arranged my Pinterest board to have the card making challenges by day so I can find them faster.  This was last Sunday's challenge at Sparkle Creations.  I used a Project Life card and instead of scrapbooking with it I turned it into a Christmas card.  I added tiny tags from Stampin' Up and a star die cut with sticker numbers "25" stickers attached with red and white bakers twine.

Happy Mother's Day! CC#259 & PTW For mum

It's almost that spring time of the year when we celebrate Mother's Day! I first looked for a stamp that I wanted to use.  I love this Stampin' Up stamp and chose to go simple and not color it all in.  I found the flowers from a K & Co. flower making kit and decided to use them as my layers.  I picked the blue scrapbook paper for the background and added a Stampin' Up pearl to the center of one of the flowers for some dimension.  This card was made for Papertake Weekly and Crafty Creations.

Hello! MOJO337, TPE242, STR #210

Thanks Mojo Monday #337 for this great sketch that I played with this morning.  I made this card for The Pink Elephant # 242 which called for lot's of layers, ribbon and a pinch of green, and The Shabby tea room "anything goes" challenge #242.  I found the green plastic circle first which I think might have been a belt in a former life.  I added the ribbon to it which gave it a preppy kind of look.  I remembered paper from The Angel Company called "fruitti fushion" and added some patterned scraps for accents from my stash.  I stamped "Hello" from Stampin up in pink.  I wanted to add a little bling so I punched a flower from an EK Success border punch and added a tiny Stampin up pearl to the center.
