Merry Wishes -Unconventional Christmas Card

Recently I watched a TED talk by Hannah Brencher on "Love Letters to Strangers".  Feeling inspired, I went to the website:  http://www.moreloveletters.com/ and couldn't stop reading!  I wrote my first letter to a stranger and signed up for the 12 days of Christmas letter challenge.  Today is letter # 3 to Rosemary who is battling lung cancer and in need of encouragement.  Her daughter mentioned that she likes pigs, so I took the challenge to make a Christmas card with a pig on it!.  The great thing about card making challenges is it gives you lot's of ideas from sketches to themes to embellishments.  I Used the letter N from the bingo challenge and die cut my stamped images of pigs as well as snowflakes.  I used the color blue and silver, along with a silver ribbon and washi tape.
My hope is that more card makers will take the challenge to write love letters to strangers globally.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Above is my card for LIM & Here is the sketch challenge:
I used a project life card "It's the most wonderful time of the year" and added a green strip with red and white bakers twine along with a red rhinestone for the holly berry and a clear for the inside medallion on the Stampin' Up image that reads "Merry Christmas".

December 25th, Christmas Card

Finally getting back to creating! life sends all kind of curve balls and this one was pain related, but I'm 90% back on track and very thankful.  I arranged my Pinterest board to have the card making challenges by day so I can find them faster.  This was last Sunday's challenge at Sparkle Creations.  I used a Project Life card and instead of scrapbooking with it I turned it into a Christmas card.  I added tiny tags from Stampin' Up and a star die cut with sticker numbers "25" stickers attached with red and white bakers twine.

Rejoice! CHNC #169 and CHNC Extra

For this week Craftyhazelnut Christmas Card Challenge #169, & for CHNC Extra The theme this week is "All wrapped up":
Isn't this a beautiful christmas image of Mary wrapping up the baby Jesus? I found the gold embossed paper at the thrift store! I think it was an "at home invitation project" gone bad, so I got paper and envelopes for next to nothing.  I cut around the gold frame and mounted it on a card that I embossed with a Stampin Up Sizzix folder to create a double frame.  I embossed the image and the word "rejoice" in gold embossing powder.

Joy, CHNC #168 Christmas Green

Christmas Challenge?! Love it!  maybe I can get my cards done before November this way.  I just joined Hazel's Craftyhazelnut Christmas Card Challenge site and created a card for challenge # 168 which is "going green..a little or a lot".  I wanted to use this embossing folder by Darice for Christmas this year, so I found this foam sparkle sentiment that reads "Joy" and glued and embossed it right onto the card.  I added a plastic holly sprig for added color and design and I'm happy with the result.
