J'Adore MOJO338, TSTR#211

http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2014/03/mojo-monday-338.htmlMojo Monday Sketch

first I found the polka dot card, then I was looking through my paper stacks and spotted this great paper with the Eiffel Tower.  I picked Fleur De Lis instead of banners to keep it french and added my button, flower and stamped sentiment for the Shabby tea room.  I rarely think to turn my paper! Thanks Mojo for the creative sketch and Shabby Tea for the embellishment inspiration.

Rejoice! CHNC #169 and CHNC Extra

For this week Craftyhazelnut Christmas Card Challenge #169, & for CHNC Extra The theme this week is "All wrapped up":
Isn't this a beautiful christmas image of Mary wrapping up the baby Jesus? I found the gold embossed paper at the thrift store! I think it was an "at home invitation project" gone bad, so I got paper and envelopes for next to nothing.  I cut around the gold frame and mounted it on a card that I embossed with a Stampin Up Sizzix folder to create a double frame.  I embossed the image and the word "rejoice" in gold embossing powder.

Hooray! Volleyball card for LIM #164

The challenge this week at Less is More is to create a card using "three" of something, and also to leave a comment on three different blogs to encourage fellow card makers.  Finding which cards to comment on was easy as they have sooo many talented stampers to choose from.  I actually made the background for the card one day while playing around with my sizzix big shot creating different taxtures.  This was made with a plastic circle that I think was intended a yarn craft of some sort.  I inked the cardstock in blue and said..cool..now what?  So I picked it up and then thought of these brads that a friend gave me from her stash, picked three and added them to the corner.  For the next inspiration I went to my sports bucket and found this great volleyball patch and said "Bingo"! I stamped a swirl to make it look like the ball was moving and added the patch with pop dots so it can be reused.  I picked the sentiment 'Hooray" so it could be given to a player or the coach.

Congrats Grad! LRW#229 Rainbow

When I saw the rainbow challenge at Little Red Wagon this week, I thought of the new graduation folder I bought from Darice.  I decided to use colored eyelets for the tassel circles.  I punched part of a circle out of the top layer so I could stamp the sentiment "Congrats Grad!" from The Angel Company.  I wanted to add some more color and dimension, and actually found a purple tassel in my stash.  I poked a hole through the eyelet and cardstock and tied the tassel to the inside of the card.  The colors just make me smile ~

Happy Mother's Day! CC#259 & PTW For mum

It's almost that spring time of the year when we celebrate Mother's Day! I first looked for a stamp that I wanted to use.  I love this Stampin' Up stamp and chose to go simple and not color it all in.  I found the flowers from a K & Co. flower making kit and decided to use them as my layers.  I picked the blue scrapbook paper for the background and added a Stampin' Up pearl to the center of one of the flowers for some dimension.  This card was made for Papertake Weekly and Crafty Creations.

Hello! MOJO337, TPE242, STR #210

Thanks Mojo Monday #337 for this great sketch that I played with this morning.  I made this card for The Pink Elephant # 242 which called for lot's of layers, ribbon and a pinch of green, and The Shabby tea room "anything goes" challenge #242.  I found the green plastic circle first which I think might have been a belt in a former life.  I added the ribbon to it which gave it a preppy kind of look.  I remembered paper from The Angel Company called "fruitti fushion" and added some patterned scraps for accents from my stash.  I stamped "Hello" from Stampin up in pink.  I wanted to add a little bling so I punched a flower from an EK Success border punch and added a tiny Stampin up pearl to the center.

Joy, CHNC #168 Christmas Green

Christmas Challenge?! Love it!  maybe I can get my cards done before November this way.  I just joined Hazel's Craftyhazelnut Christmas Card Challenge site and created a card for challenge # 168 which is "going green..a little or a lot".  I wanted to use this embossing folder by Darice for Christmas this year, so I found this foam sparkle sentiment that reads "Joy" and glued and embossed it right onto the card.  I added a plastic holly sprig for added color and design and I'm happy with the result.

Life's Sweet, LIM #163 Stenciling

The challenge this week on Less is More week #163 is masking or stenciling.  I chose a fruit border stencil by Delta.  I used my ink daubers and played with four different colors to create this "Life's Sweet" cherry card.  It needed some bling, but I wanted to keep it as flat as possible so I chose sequins as my embellishment.  This will be a great all occasion card for this spring or summer.

Sisters and Friends, cardabilities #95

Created for Cardabilities Sketch #95
When I saw this sketch, I thought of the K & Co. designer paper by Brenda Walton.  I love the colors of the flowers in this collection, they look vintage and romantic.  I also used a sentiment tag by K & Co. that reads "Sisters and friends" and tied some pink twine to match.  I wanted the tag to sit into the arrangement like the sketch, so I cut around the flower then inked the edges so they wouldn't look so white, and glued in my tag.  I used the same green color as the tag to break up the card at the bottom and make it more cohesive.

Happy 50th Birthday! CCC#57, CC #258, LRW #228

This card was created with these three challenges in mind:
Creative Card Crew #57 "Use a charm"
Crafty Creations #258 "Happy Birthday"
Little Red Wagon #228 "Truly Dimensional"
I used SEI poppy paper stack for the background and added Stampin up ink to numbers that might have been Tim Holtz (?).   I added a "Happy Day" charm, and to keep it masculine I used string rather then ribbon to link the charm on the card.  I added a dimensional dot to keep it straight and to bump it up with the numbers.  I added the star to balance the embellishments.

Never More than a thought away

The Shabby Tea Room #209 Spring is near challenge: What a beautiful inspiration picture.   I came up with paper from two different mini paper pads for the background and the postcard image.  I found the stripe paper tag that I think matches this image quite well in my tag drawer.  I added the flowers with bling to the corner of the card along with leaves from the Stampin Up bird punch.  The sentiment is Stampin Up and reads "You're never more than a thought away" which balances nicely with the images.
*Update: the Shabby Tea Room awarded this card an honorable mention.  Thank you!

Just a Note Fttc261 & Paper Take Challenge

this card was created for the Flourishes FTTC261 It's a wash! challenge and Paper Take Sketches Bingo pick three in a row: I chose Lace, Gems and for my free space I picked Washi Tape.  The butterfly paper is from a scrapbook paper pack and I added a flower and leaf with a "gem" in the center.  I found olive colored "washi tape" and "lace" for added embellishment.  The stamp sentiment "Just a note" seemed to be the perfect size and font, and I'm happy with the result.

Be amazing! ABC Challenge and sssc210 sketch

Here is the sketch for SSSC210, and I used the theme from the ABC-challenge this week which is "G is for Girl":
I used scrapbook paper from a Micheals Recollections paper pack.  I added bling and a few flowers to make it more girlie too.  I love the encouraging message: "Be amazing, Be Fabulous, Be you!".  Would make a great card for a girl at any age and for any occasion.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Inchie Card

TPE#241 Happy St. Patricks Day! inchie collage style card made with cardstock, metal embellishments, bakers twine, button, rhinestones, washi tape, confetti, postage, rubber stamps and more.  layers on layers of paper fun:

One of a Kind Mojo Monday #336

Here is the sketch for Mojo Monday #336 and what I came up with.  I used a Recollections paper pack from Micheals and a die cut flower and leaf for embellishment.  I fussy cut the butterfly and the "one of a kind" banner from the scrapbook paper pack.  This will make a cute card for a spring birthday or encouragement note.  Thanks Mojo for the inspiration today!

Celebrate Spring! Week# 162 OLC Spring Flowers

I wanted to use my washi tape instead of just collect it, so I created this card for the Less is More Challenge #162 one layer card with a spring flower theme.  I put down the washi tape then used my McGill flower punch to create the flower shape.  I decided to create a 3 x 3 with the flower die and added a black 3/4 inch circle in the middle of each.  I used a pink gel pen to trace the flower to the inside of the card so the inside has a flower too.  Celebrate Spring!
