Stitched Snowman

Pulled out a vintage set for this one! 1995 Stampin Up Foam set, 24 years old called "Stitched Snowman".  I used colored pencils, a snow embossing folder, and a silver ribbon to create this sweet thinking of you winter card.

Birthday Bear

I combined three blog challenges because it helps me know what to create next!  I found this sketch at Atlantic Hearts and combined that with a Birthday theme from AAA Birthday Challenge.  I was inspired by Crafty Cardmakers to add 3-2-1 of something to the card as well.  I started with the bear because he's sooo cute and he had three candles in his cake.  I found the two patterned papers that I thought worked well together and stamped "Make a wish"on one banner die from Papertrey Ink.

Sisterly Love,AHS#146

I found design #146 at Atlantic Heart Sketch, and decided to make a Valentine for my sister.  I found this sweet vintage paper in a partially used paper pack at the thrift store, and die cut three hearts.  I stamped then embossed the off white piece, and ran the paper through a second time without the folder to flatten out the pattern a bit.
Can you believe in 1997 Stampin Up had foam stamps?! Yup, and I think they should go back to selling them as an option.  They work well, and they're a cheap alternative.  I added a little gold locket (reminiscent of childhood as well) to the center of the heart and my card is complete.

Happy Birthday!, AH #142, APP#56

I was challenged by the colors at Alway's Playing with Paper, Then encouraged by the sketch at Atlantic Hearts to give it a go.  I thought of a paper pack by The Angel Company called "Kaleidoscope Brites" which is perfect for boy's cards.  The cupcake was a pre made embellishment (paperbliss?) that I added as my focal point.  I die cut the navy burst to highlight the cupcake and added twine to tag stamped "Happy Birthday!"

Soccer happy birthday, AHS#120

I like the simplicity and versatility of the sketch this week at Atlantic Hearts I first found the scraps of blue and green and then the background green paper and trim.  I decided a boy's card would work and found the soccer ball in my stash.  I like the Happy Birthday sentiment being in brackets because it made me think of goal posts.  simple and fun.

Love many things

This card was inspired by the SOS#208  challenge and the sketch #114 at Atlantic Hearts.  The goal at shopping your stash was to find a bauble, button or bow to add to your card (which just so happens to be what I hoard!).  I found this beautiful butterfly bauble on a discarded stationary box at the thrift store and knew I had to embellish a card with it.  I have mini drawers of buttons, and searched with great delight to find matching metal and blue buttons.  Ribbon and lace are another favorite of mine, so on goes a scrap across the bottom of the card, and a quote "The way to know life is to love many things" ~ Very true.
