365 Cards #173 Vintage plus Yellow

I think this completes this week's theme on 365 cards.  I found this romantic vintage picture of a couple with a yellow sunset in the background and ran with it.  I found this leaf punch recently and decided to try it out on this card.  I really like how it brings your attention to the setting that the couple is in.  I collect (hoard!) charms and dug through my drawer and found this terrific brass heart to which I added a ribbon that reads "Love and Cherish".  I decided to make this into an anniversary card and added that to the front of the card as well.

365 Cards #172 Vintage Plus Green

Another vintage challenge on 365 cards, and this time the accent color is green.  I found this terrific premade tag that reads "Romance" in my stash and changed the ribbon to green.  I found this bag of tatting that I purchased at an estate sale and added it to the collage for it's antique and delicate feel.   The closest flower I had to the one in the picture is a dogwood which I liked,  and added a little green button to the center completing this wonderful anniversary card.

365 Cards #171 Vintage plus Pink

Again 365 cards has me digging in my vintage stash for something pink!  I found this wonderful old card that I thought I would re-purpose one day, so I did just that.  I trimmed it down and added the sentiment "Just for You" along with a little old locket and some pearl accents.  The result is a very feminine card that can be used for any occasion.

365 Cards #169 Vintage plus Black

The challenge on 365 cards is to create a card using a vintage item and the color black.  I dug in my vintage stash and found this funny copy of a photograph.  I then started reading some of my sentiments and came across this one: "Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make everyday a holiday and celebrate just living"  I thought now that's what this picture portrays!.    A friend had given me some of these wonderful brass photo corners, knowing that I'm an embellishment junkie and that I may just find a use for it and...ta..da!  The result is a fun card for any occasion.

365 Cards #168 vintage plus red

The challenge on 365 cards is to create a card with something vintage and something red.  I dug in my vintage box and found this great sticker of a trunk with a red quilt sticking out.  I thought about this rubber stamp in my stash that reads "sewing mends the soul" and from there I got the idea to add some sewing items to the front.  When I found that all the items I wanted to add wouldn't fit, I decided to cut out the inside of the trunk and have the vintage sewing needles rest half inside the trunk and half out! bingo ~ I'm very pleased with the outcome, and think this card would make a great gift to give a sewing friend.

365 Cards #166 Sketchy Sunday

Here is the sketchy sunday challenge on 365 cards: I used Heidi Swapp paper and a "Lovey Dovey" stamp by Stampin up, and I think the result would make a great anniversary or wedding shower card.  Isn't this a great sketch?!

365 Cards #165 30 mins or less

Yesterdays challenge on 365 cards was to create a card in 30 mins. or less.
Ok, so I wanted to try to play with alcohol inks on glossy paper...so I played and played and I think I over played!   Anyway, I stamped my dragonfly and added stickles to his wings and bling to his head and "thanks" as a sentiment.  Yes, it was less then 30 mins and I had fun creating... I'm not in love with the outcome, but I enjoyed the process!

365 Cards: #112 Paper Pieced

On 365 cards the idea yesterday was to paper piece a stamped image.  I thought of this stamp by JRL designs called "Peace on Earth Angel".  I colored in blue with markers around the stars on her cape.  I paper pieced her hair, the stripes of the flag on her dress, and her polka dot sleeve.  I used stickles for sparkle on the flame of the torch, and added a terrific patriotic ribbon across the top.  Happy 4th of July!  ~

365 Cards: #111 Sketchy Sunday & PIO #25

I love this new sketch on 365 cards today!  I thought of this terrific medallion stamp called "Long Life" by Inkadinkado right away when I saw this challenge.  I embossed the image in pearl lustre hematite by Stampendous.  I couldn't figure out what to do for the lines at first, so I started digging in my charm drawer.  I found the fish charm first, then I had the idea to use buttons.  I cut the metal loop off the charm and the shanks off the buttons so they would lie flat, and added the gold ribbon to form the lines.
This card also works for this weeks challenge at Pile it on where they want you to "show some metal" on your card.

When I saw the movie challenge today on 365 cards I was excited to use my pooh bear stamps.

365 Cards #109 Movie

Today on 365 Cards I saw the "Transformers" movie poster and went "gulp" ~ I gave it some thought, and came up with the idea of doing a tri-fold card since it reminds me of the transformer toys with all it's moving parts.  I used the black and gray with some metal embellishments, and added a pocket for the giver to slip some cash or a check inside.

365 cards #108 Mega Movies

Today on 365 cards we were asked to make a card using this movie poster as inspiration.  I saw all that red and thought of the coke glass I had in my stash.  I also recently purchased ticket embellishments from KrazyKateDesign on Etsy.  I  kept adding paper layers, ribbon, twine, and metal stars, until the card front was complete.  I added a small envelope to hold a gift card, movie tickets or cash to the inside of the card.

365 cards: #99 It's my party

On 365 cards today the challenge is to create a birthday card that you would like to receive.   My birthday is in November so I really like the fall colors that are around at that time.  I love sunflowers, and this paper from The Angel Company looks like sunflowers to me.  The paper pack is called whimsy blossoms, which fits these flowers perfectly I think.  I added the sentiment "To a Wonderful Friend" because it's great to be a friend, but to be wonderful too..now that's a compliment!.

365 Cards: #98 Happy Anniversary

On 365 cards #98 = Lucky #13.   The object was to use 13 of something on your card in honor of Heidi's 13th wedding anniversary.  I chose 13 hearts and I added a red and white bakers twine bow for some fun.    I really like that stampin up sentiment set with the word window punch, it really helps finish a card fast!  I dug through my red scrap drawer and I just kept punching out those hearts ~ very therapeutic :)
Now I need to make another card just like it for my anniversary with 11 hearts and I'll be ahead of the game this year.

365 Cards #97 Sketchy Sunday

Yesterday was sketchy sunday on 365 cards.  when I saw the columns, I thought of the fluttering butterflies stamp that I have from The Angel Company.  I added rhinestones and stickles for added bling.  I kept adding details like the corner mount, and then finally cut out one of the butterflies and used a pop-dot to raise him up before I called the card complete.

365 Cards: #96 Ad Inspired

I love butterflies! the ad challenge on 365 cards made me pull out my punches and use one of my butterflies to create this happy little card.  I love the sentiment: "Your love has given me wings"  I made the one purple butterfly 3d by stamping him and then stamping and cutting him out and mounting just the middle to the card front and adding glitter and rhinestones for bling.  I could've added a light swirl in the background for some movement, but I didn't think of it till I finished! always next time ~

365 Cards: #92 Paper Take Sketch & Basic Grey

Today on 365 Cards the challenge was to use your favorite ice cream flavor as inspiration for your card. One of my favorites is mint chocolate chip, but I also really love Rasberry Chip Royale:

Very yummy! so with that in mind I used this week's sketch #56 from Papertake sketch #56and combined it with the basicgrey challenge, to make this sweet greeting that's "From the Heart"  The brown cardstock  is by Stampin Up, and the patterned heart paper is called bittersweet by Basic Grey.  I added ribbon and a heart charm to complete this handmade card.  Both the card and the stamp are available to purchase in my Etsy shop.

365 Cards: #91 Color scheme

Today on 365 cards the challenge is to use these three colors:
I used Stampin Up paper and ribbon to create this cute "Congratulations" on your new home or sold home themed card.  I cut out one of the houses and used a pop dot to make it a focal point too.   This is my 100th post!! so it's also a congrats to meeee :)

365 Cards #87 Cool

Today's word prompt on 365 cards is "Cool".  The other day it was soooo hot and humid outside, then the rain came and it cooled the air almost instantly! I love listening to the rain and watching children splash in puddles :)
I used a fiskars texture plate for the background of this card, and added sizzix splashes to the bottom to make it look like rain puddles.   I used this wonderful sentiment "May Happiness Rain Down On You" by Stampabilities.  To make the word Rain appear 3D, I used Royal Coat Dimensional Magic by Plaid.

365 Cards: #83 Sketchy Sunday

Here is sketch  #83 on 365 cards:
I made this "Hello" greeting using stampin up Alphadots and a circle punch.  I put a few rhinestones and a cute telephone sticker on  to add to the fun.  The patterned paper is from The Angel Company Fruiti Fusion  pack.
