Patriotic thank you, red white and blue, LIM 231, CAS #67

Happy 4th of July! Less is More challenge #231 is a "Red, White, and Blue" color theme this week.

I found this heart flag stencil and used a sponge to color in the stars and stripes.  I punched stars in the corners and a "Thank you" sentiment take make this a card for a veteran.  I'm also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #67 where the theme is patriotic. 

Believe, Christmas in July blog hop, CHNC#236

The Challenge at Case-ing Christmas is a "Christmas in July blog hop" where you take a card of your own that you recently created and "case" it and make it a Christmas card.  I really like how this card turned out of mine: Make a wish: the sketch from the paper players is so adaptable to any theme.  

I printed and trimmed  the reindeer image from All Dressed Up.  I colored it in with pencils, and added Stickles to his nose to make him look more like Rudolph.  I added washi tape from the dollar store that reads "Christmas Greetings".  I stamped the word "Believe" and added sparkly sequins to create some magic on the greeting.  I'm also adding this card to Crafty Hazelnut's challenge to use a Christmas Sentiment.

I love you, Time Out and Southern Girl Challenges

My card as I interpreted The Time Out Challenge photo (see below)  I liked the demensions and the busyness of this inspiration picture and related it to a card for a teenager(!)   I chose the striped background paper first then found washi tape in the same color theme.  I dug into my "Girls" tub and found this terrific "Love" patch/sticker by EK Success (an ollies find of 7 for $1.19) and added letter stickers in black.  I punched out a heart at the bottom and mounted to black cardstock.  Southern Girls Challenge is to use washi tape, so I'm entering that challenge with this entry as well.

You're in my prayers

 first I found CRAFT Challenge # 318 "embossing" then I found Crafty Ribbons #122 "anything goes... with a ribbon" so I searched for one more inspirational element and found In the Pink #72 "vintage shabby pink" whenever I hear pink and ribbon my first thought is breast cancer awareness.  I had a biopsy awhile back and it came back benign, Others however aren't always as fortunate and the need for encouragement is eminent.   I found the word "courage" and "hope" comforting along with the word"Prayer".  The bow is a discarded child's hair bow that I took the back off of and attached a safety pin with beads and a charm.  I used a vintage doily and stamped "You're in my prayers".  I added a pink heart confetti piece for added love.

Make-A-Wish!

When I saw the challenge to use a cake as a focal point on Cute Card Thursday, I knew I needed to use the 3D Martha Stewart embellishment pack I found on sale at Tuesday Morning recently.  I then looked for a sketch challenge to help me decide what to do, and The paper players had the perfect inspiration this week:

   I used washi tape at the bottom and embossed my die cut circle for added texture.   The die cut banner is from papertrey ink.   The pieces of gold wire is a  thrift store find, and I have sooo much of it! Seize the day

    

 4 Crafty Chicks challenge this week is "no stamping" so I knew I was going to have to find one more inspiration challenge to get me in gear: Case this sketch, CTS #130 did just that for me:

 I knew I had some die cuts and chipboard flowers in my "Thinking of you" tub, and that's where I found this beautiful round piece.  I added a green sticker that reads "Seize the day" and washi tape along with a chevron die cut piece from Papertrey ink out of green patterned paper.  

Birthday Banner

I had to buy the red, white and blue duct tape that I found at the dollar store, so I'm thankful I'm putting it to use.  It makes the banner/pennant look real because of the sheen and texture.  I used red and white bakers twine for the rope and a marvy punch to make the flags.  The chevron die cut is from Papertrey ink.  

Rejoice! Magical Christmas

 I thought of this unmounted angel stamp when I read the challenge for ABC Christmas: "M is for Magical".  The sketch idea came from Freshly made sketches #193, This is my  clean and simple version.  I'm finding using a sketch along with another challenge theme is really helping me dig into my unused supplies.  The card base is a deep plum in real life, somehow it photographed burgundy.., learning! 

Surfs up!

I loved the inspiration colors in the color throw down challenge # 349 :      

It made me think of my latest die cut purchase (Quickutz Swirls), so I created turquoise waves with it.  The sand and the word banner are die cuts from Papertrey Ink, and the surf board is a rubber stamp that I stamped on painted paper, cut out and slipped in the sand.

Twinkle twinkle little star

Tip Top Tuesday's challenge is "Name that Tune".   I thought of these sweet project life type cards that I recently purchased with the intention of making a baby shower card out of.  I also found in my baby boy supply tub this adoreable stork button that I cut the shank off of and another yellow button that I added blue floss to.  I used a corner star punch and punched a few extra stars out of yellow paper to add to the sky background. Tuesday's Throwdown Challenge this week: "It's in the Stars" helped inspire this creation as well.
